The welding technology program at Seward County Community College trains students to become skilled artisans combining both art and science in their profession. Welders hold an important place in modern industry, working in manufacturing, construction, maintenance, and repair. Welders are needed in any industry where metal is used.
Entry level and advanced welding involves the fusion of metals using an electric arc or gas torch to create useful metal objects from blueprints or original designs. Welding technology students obtain valuable hands-on experience using up-to-date welding equipment and technology to assemble projects provided by the public or from blue prints in the campus welding shop.
