FAQ: Accuplacer Placement Testing

What is Accuplacer?

Accuplacer is a computer based testing tool that assists Seward County Community College in assessing a person's ability to succeed in general education courses. Examples of general education courses are: English Composition I, Psychology, College Algebra, and Biology. This is not a complete list; visit with an advisor for more information. The Accuplacer Test is composed of a Reading, Writing, and Math Section. While the test is untimed, students generally take approximately three hours to complete the test.

Students who follow the recommendations of accuplacer placement based on test scores have a better chance of successfully completing general education courses.
