ACT (Account Control Technology Foundation)

ACT is now accepting applications for its Second-Year Scholarship Program. The ACT Foundation is a charitable organization established by Account Control Technology, Inc. to build financial literacy, support education, fund vital charities and provide community support. The ACT company has been delivering debt management and collection services for educational institutions since 1990. Current first-year college students who plan and qualify to enroll as a second-year student (sophomore) in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university in the Fall of the 2016-2017 academic year and demonstrate financial need, are eligible to apply. DCP Midstream's Career and Technical Scholarship Not available at this time

This is a $1,500 scholarship that is open to high school seniors or graduates, or students who are already enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year college or career-technical school. Students must be pursuing an assocaiates degree or career-technical certification in one of the following specified fields of study: Compression, Corrosion/cathodic protection, Electrical and instrumentation, Gas technology, Industrial electricity, Industrial maintenance, Machine tool technology, Mechanic, Petroleum technology, Plant operations, Process technology, SCADA, Welding or Diesel power/heavy equipment technology. Scholarships are renewable up to one year or until an associates degree or career-technical certification is earned. CHS Foundation Scholarship Not available at this time

The CHS Foundation will award 50 $1,000 high school scholarships to students planning to study an ag-related field at a two- or four-year college and 25 two-year college scholarships to to first-year ag students attending a two-year college. Kansas County Clerks and Election Officials Association Scholarship

This is a $500 scholarship that is open to students who intend to attend a Kansas College; majoring in Political Science, Business or Communications and are a high school senior with a 3.0 GPA or a freshman or sophomore in college who will complete a minimum of 12 credit hours in college with a 3.0 GPA. If you are interested in applying for this scholarship, come by the Financial Aid office and pick up an application.

Terry L. McKanna Scholarship Fund of the Kansas Section of the American Water Works Association

The Terry L. McKanna Scholarship is open to students who are United States citizens and are enrolled in a two or four-year accredited college or university program. The applicant must be a taking courses related to civil or environmental engineering or environmental science with an emphasis on career fields associated with the Waterworks Industry. Two (2) 1,000 scholarships will be awarded for the academic year 2016-2017. Small Business Success Student Scholarship Program

This scholarship was established last year by Surety Bonds, a surety insurance agency based out of Columbia, Missouri. The scholarship is open to students in every state and a $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to three (3) deserving individuals. It is targeting students with small business experience and the knowledge they have gained, whether personally or from observing family members working to make a way for themselves. Applications may only be submitted online. As part of the application each student must submit a 500 to 1,000-word essay about "How small business ownership (personal, parent, grandparent, or legal guardian) has shaped you into the person you are today." National Association of Abandoned Mine Land Programs (NAAMLP)

NAAMLP is a non-profit, professional organization that promotes the reclamation and restoration of lands affected by abandoned mining throughout the nation.  A $2,000 NAAMLP Scholarship is intended to assist in the education of students who intend to work as scientists, engineers, or technicians in the field of mine land reclamation.  Letters of application for this scholarship must be received by the application deadline of May 31, 2016 and the scholarship must be utilized during the 2016-2017 school year.  For more information and the scholarship application click here

Seaboard Foods Scholarship

Seaboard Foods will award $1,000 scholarships each year to students in the following programs at Seward County Community College:  welding technology; heating/ventilation/air conditioning/refrigeration; process technology; diesel technology; automotive technology; machine tool technology; natural gas compression technology; and truck driving.  Students must maintain a 2.5 grade point average to be eligible for the scholarship.  Students must complete the SCCC Foundation Scholarship/Grant Application and Seaboard Foods Scholarship Questionnaire. SER Corporation Scholarship

SER Corporation has been offering services in Kansas to migrant and seasonal farm workers for over three decades. The SER Board of Directors Scholarship Program is open to all Hispanic students who are considered migrant or seasonal farm workers and have maintained at least a 2.75 (B-) cumulative grade point average (first time applicants must have a 3.0 GPA), have applied for full-time status as a student at an accredited college, university or junior college, and meet all admission requirements of the school selected. Awards of $500 to $1,000 each will be granted for study leading to an associate or baccalaureate degree.  Awards are renewable for up to three years or until educational requirements are met, whichever comes first. All eligible scholarship recipients MUST complete the application process EACH YEAR to be considered for renewal of the award.  Forms are available in the Financial Aid office. Scholarships will be available during the 2016-17 academic school year by visiting with the SER representative.

FHSU National Science Foundation - Robert Noyce Scholarship Program

The National Science Foundation's Robert Noyce Scholarship Program is a collaboration between teacher education, physics, geosciences, chemistry, biology and mathematics and is designed to increase the supply of highly qualified middle and high school science and mathematics teachers (grades 6-12).  The Noyce Scholarship Program at Fort Hays State University offers two levels of support for prospective teachers. The Noyce Teacher-Leader Program provides financial support for college juniors and seniors majoring in mathematics or a science field who are pursuing a teaching career.  Scholarships are $12,000 for each recipient.  The Noyce Summer Scholar Program provides paid opportunities for students to experience teaching science and mathematics in informal settings such as camps and outreach programs prior to formally pursuing a career in teaching.  There is a $2,400 stipend for each recipient.  To apply for these scholarships visit http://www.fhsu.edu/noyce.

NACE Gas Capital Section Scholarship

This scholarship is open to students who are related or referred by a member in good standing of NACE Gas Capital Section; accepted to an accredited college/university or technical trade school; must be a full-time student; and, must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA. Elma Schmidt Scholarship

The Elma Schmidt Scholarship is open to women who are United States citizens and have resided in South Western Kansas for at least 12 years. The student must have graduated from an accredited high school, or have a GED equivalent. She must also be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours per semester or in a qualified vocational-technical program, and have financial need. Dane G. Hansen Educational Scholarships

Students graduating from high schools in the following 26 counties in Northwest Kansas may be eligilble for Dane G. Hansen Scholarships: Cheyenne, Cloud, Decatur, Ellis, Ellsworth, Gove, Graham, Jewell, Lincoln, Logan, Mitchell, Norton, Osborne, Ottawa, Phillips, Rawlins, Republic, Rooks, Russell, Saline, Sheridan, Sherman, Smith, Thomas, Trego and Wallace. Women's Opportunity Awards offered through Soroptimist International of the Americas

Since 1972, Soroptimist has been helping women the world over to reclaim their dreams through the Women's Opportunity Awards program. To be eligible for this award you must be a woman with primary financial resonsibility for supporting your family (including children, spouse, siblings and/or parents); attend or have been accepting to a vocational/skills training program, or an undergraduate degree program; have financial need; be motivated to achieve your educational and career goals; and reside in one of Soroptimist International of the Americas' member countries and territories (Aregentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guam, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Taiwan, USA, or Venezuela). Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship Program

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is a private, independent foundation dedicated to advancing the education of exceptionally promising students who have financial need. To be eligible for the scholarship a student must be: *A current student at an accrredited US community college or two-year institution with sophomore status, or a recent graduate (within the last five years); *Have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better; *Plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to begin studies in the coming fall; and, *Demonstrate unmet financial aid. Kansas Board of Regents / Career Technical Workforce Grant

This is a grant that is awarded to students who are residents of Kansas and have graduated from a high school accredited by the State Board of Education or who have received general educational development (GED) credentials issued by the Kansas Board of Regents, or have graduated from a home school program or a non-accredited private secondary school pursuant to K.S.A. 72-53, 100 et. seq.  Students must be enrolled in or have been accepted for admission to an eligible career technical education program operated by a designated Kansas educational institution that has been identified as offering a technical certificate or associate of applied science degree program in a high cost, high demand or critical industry field.  A student may be enrolled either part-time or full-time (awards for part-time students are pro-rated based on the number of hours enrolled).  Preference in awarding goes to applicants with financial need.  The maximum amount of the award is $1,000 per year for full-time students.  Applications are available in the Financial Aid office or at www.kansasregents.org.

Kansas Board of Regents/Ethnic Minority, Nursing, State and Teacher Service Scholarships

These scholarships are available to Kansas residents who are enrolled in a qualified program in a Kansas college or university.  To review specific scholarship requirements and apply online go to www.kansasregents.org or pick up an application in the Financial Aid office.  All applicants must complete a FAFSA by April 1st and submit their applications before May 1, 2016, as funding is limited.  Contact KBOR at 785-296-3517 if you have any other questions.

The Army Women's Foundation Legacy Scholarship Program

The Legacy Scholarship program offers financial support to all Army women who are serving, or have honorably served, and their children. Scholarships are based on merit, academic potential, community service, letters of recommendation, and need. It is available for tuition assistance for certificate programs, coursework at community colleges, four year academic institutions and graduate schools. Kansas Hospital Education and Research Foundation (KHERF) Scholarships

Five health care organizations are collaborating to provide scholarships in health related fields! For the eleventh year,Kansans wishing to improve their education and skills may apply for the Kansas Hospital Education and Research Foundation (KHERF) scholarships "Encouraging Excellence." The Kansas Association of Health Care Executives (KAHCE) and the Kansas Hospital Human Resources' Association (KHHRA) partner with KHERF to assist Kansans interested in pursuing education in any discipline of patient care or administration. The Kansas HIT Regional Extension Center (REC) and the Kansas Chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (KHIMSS) offer scholarships in Health Information Management. For eligibility requirements and to apply click on here

Christine Dolechek Medical Scholarship

Gwendolyne Hawley Trust Scholarship Award

The Gwendolyne Hawley Trust Scholarship Award Program is designed to assist deserving
post-secondary students who are blind or visually impaired with their education. Students are selected for the awards based on a variety of factors that indicate their high potential to make our investment in their future a worthwhile venture.
Students must meet the following criteria:
Kansas residents who are blind or visually impaired; enrolled in or entering a formal course of study at a university, college or licensed and accredited vocational training program by September, 2015; taking nine (9) hours (or the equivalent) of undergraduate courses, or six (6) hours (or the equivalent) of graduate courses; must be sponsored by a teacher, counselor, professor, or other professional involved with the applicant in an official capacity. MassMutual Program Scholarship

The MassMutual Scholars Program is funded by Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company and is focused on expanding access and opportunity of higher education and employment to students who reflect the rich cultural diversity of our nation. They seek to increase the number of students completing college nationally, assist in decreasing student debt, raise awareness of careers in insurance and financial services, and recruit and retain the top talent touched by their programs.
In 2015, MassMutual looks forward to offering $150,000 in total funding; assisting at least 30 students, entering their sophomore, junior, senior, or fifth year of undergraduate coursework, with a scholarship worth up to $5,000. Students must complete and submit for federal financial aid by completing the FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov and be interested in pursuing a career in the insurance and financial services industry.

Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas Scholarships

Numerous scholarship programs are available to assist qualified applicants offset costs of higher education at accredited institutions. The funds for these scholarship programs are available due to the transfer of scholarship funds from the former St. Mary of the Plains College and additional scholarship funds donated to the Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas. Kansas Kiwanis Foundation College Student Scholarship

The Kansas Kiwanis Foundation is proud to offer scholarships to deserving students who are currently enrolled in institutions of higher education. Kiwanis Clubs are service organizations, and therefore are interested in recognizing young people who are service oriented.  The twenty plus scholarships awarded each year are evaluated on several factors, primarily SERVICE and ACADEMIC PREPARATION.  Other factors taken into consideration are life goals, activities, need, recommendations and membership in service organizations. BP Royalty Scholarship

The BP Royalty Scholarship Fund is a scholarship offered to a person having a parent, grandparent, uncle or aunt who was a member of the Class, or if non of a Kansas royalty owner in a Southwest Kansas well producing some gas.
