The Writing Center is funded by KS-LSAMP--The Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation, a National Science Foundation program that assists college and universities in diversifying the workforce entering science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields.

The Writing Center is open to all SCCC students for help with writing assignments in any class. The Writing Center is for students of all abilities from an A student wanting to improve writing abilities to a D student struggling to pass the class. Students can find help in all aspects of writing:

  • Understanding teacher expectations
  • Selecting a topic
  • MLA and APA format
  • Researching
  • Developing content
  • Organizing thoughts
  • Revising
  • Editing

Students can also log on to one of the computers to work on a paper or print a paper to turn in to an instructor. We will also listen to students' ideas and provide feedback.
