Pharmacy (Pre)

Overview

The pre-pharmacy program is designed to prepare a student for multiple paths that could be chosen at pharmacy schools as their interest develops. Pharmacy schools require a basic two-year pre-pharmacy curriculum and the course sequence at Seward County Community College is designed to allow a student to complete this goal. Students seeking a bachelor’s degree first should follow the Chemistry, Biology, or pre-Medicine curriculum.

Students pursuing this field can become pharmacy practitioners in community and retail pharmacies, hospitals, and managed care facilities. Students can also specialize and go into medicinal chemistry, pharmacology and toxicology, or pharmaceutical chemistry research.
