Sherry Moentmann

Sherry has a M.A. in English with a Literature Emphasis from Pittsburg State University, and a M.M. in Conducting from American Band College of Southern Oregon University in Ashland.  She has an L.T.D. in Secondary Education with a K-12 Music Field Endorsement (Instrumental and Vocal), and 7-12 Speech/Drama Subject Endorsement from Concordia University in Seward, NE. Sherry completed undergrad at Concordia College in Seward, NE where she earned a B.A. in Communication and Speech/Drama.

Sherry enjoys teaching at SCCC because “I love how the faculty, staff, and students all contribute to the family-atmosphere”.

A fun fact about Sherry is that she has written one book, “Drawing on Trust,” under the pen name Jyndy Tayn.

Students taking Sherry’s class “can expect to work hard”.

Joy Jacquart

Joy has a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Science in Special Education from Fort Hays State University. 

When asked why she enjoys teaching at SCCC Joy shared  that she enjoys the “energy that young people bring to the environment!”  She also loves meeting and getting to know students from so many different backgrounds and places in life.  “While I’m only a part of their journey for a short time, I feel blessed to be along for this segment of the ride.” 

A fun fact about Joy is that her very first college credits were earned through SCCC when she was in high school in 1991.

Another is that while she loves to travel and make memories with her family, one of her favorite trips ever was a trip to Disneyland all by herself!

Students taking Joy’s class should know that she will do anything she can to help a student who is willing to do the work necessary to be successful. She says, “There will be homework.  There will be challenges.  It won’t always be easy; but if a student attends class, does the assignments, and puts in the effort, she or he will have good chance at being successful.”

Gina Moore

Gina holds both a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in English with a minor in Education.

She loves teaching at SCCC because of the relationships that she is able to build.

A fun fact about Gina is that she makes soap. 

Students taking Gina’s class can expect to become better at communicating, even outside of English class. 

Jason Pete

Jason has three Bachelor’s degrees in English Literature, Art History, and Studio Art from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He also has a Master’s degree in English Literature from Purdue University.

“One aspect that I enjoy about teaching at SCCC is the one-on-one interactions I have with students. During these conversations, I learn a lot about my students, and, more importantly, I learn a lot about myself. “

A fun fact about Jason is “I feed and take care of the six cats that currently dwell on our campus”. 

Students taking Jason’s class “need to have a sense of humor”.
