SCCC Poetry Contest
October 11 - November 29
FreeYou are invited to submit your original poetry for the annual SCCC Poetry Contest. Contest participants are also invited to read their original writings at an event in April, which is National Poetry Month.
Contest Details
Contestants can submit up to 2 original written works for consideration in the contest.
All submissions from students under the age of 18 will also need to complete the parent permission form to be considered.

Contest Dates
Contest Opens: October 11th @ 8:30am.
Contest Closes: November 29th, 2023, at 11:59pm.
Categories For Entry
- Young Poets: Grades 6-10
- High School Juniors and Seniors: Grades 11-12
- Open: Everyone 18 years+, beyond 12th grade (ex: SCCC students, SCCC employees, or members of the public).
Judging and Winner Notification
Entries will be judged by January 10th, 2024 and winners will be announced on January 17, 2024.
April Creative Writers Coffeehouse Event
Event will be held April 5th, 2024 . More details to come. Invitations will be sent out via email to all contest participants.

SCCC WINTER CONCERT
SCCC Music Department is hosting their annual Winter Concert on December 1, 2023 at 7:00 P.M.
Hosted in the newly renamed, Rapid Fit Health Club Showcase Theater (inside Shank Humanities Building) at 1801 N. Kansas Ave., Liberal, KS 67901.
Tickets are $3 each and will be available at the door or in advance by contacting Jenn Player, Humanities Division Coordinator, by phone at 620.417.1451.

The band and choir have put together a night of festive music that’s sure to put you in the holiday spirit!
