Transfer Students

A student wanting to transfer from an accredited college/post-secondary institution is eligible for admission if the student is eligible to re-enter the institution last attended and meet the admission requirements of SCCC. Official transcripts from all previous institutions attended must be received and evaluated prior to being officially admitted and enrolled at Seward County Community College. A Transcript Request document must be completed and submitted. For assistance with transcripts, please reach out to the Registrar’s Office at (620) 417-1060. Transfer Course Equivalences is available on the Board of Regents website.

Students who have been placed on academic probation

A student from another college/university or who has been dismissed based on academic performance must complete each step in the following procedure. For more details, please refer to the Admissions procedure further down or reach out to the Admissions office for assistance.
  • Provide written request for admission to SCCC with an explanation of circumstances regarding the academic difficulties; the written request should include a statement of academic goals and should be addressed to the Dean of Student Services.
  • Complete a Transcript Request.
  • Complete an Application for Admission.
  • Provide official transcripts from all prior colleges attended.
  • Take the ACCUPLACER for course-placement purposes. Contact 620-417-1042 to schedule the ACCUPLACER assessment.
  • Limit SCCC enrollment to 12 credit hours or less per Fall/Spring Term or six credit hours or less per Summer Term.
  • Register with the Academic Achievement Center and attend a minimum of ten clock hours of tutoring per semester.
  • Be placed on Academic Probation and maintain a 2.0 GPA to continue SCCC enrollment.

Note: It is the responsibility of the transferring student to inform the Admissions Office if he/she has previously been academically dismissed at any college. Failure to disclose such information or falsification of information requested may result in immediate dismissal from SCCC.

Required Application Materials

We cannot begin to review your enrollment process until all the documents listed below are received. These deadlines and requirements pertain to both domestic and international applicants.

Application requirements for admission to the college are the same for all students, regardless of the academic major/area of interest.*

*Students who wish to be considered for direct admission to a program in the areas of Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, Surgical Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Cosmetology, or CDL will also need to complete an additional application and/or interview.

  • Email the form to once it has been completed.
  • Submit an official high school transcript (including final grades, grade point average, class ranking, and date of graduation) or an official copy of a GED transcript to the registrar’s office. (Attention: Registrar, PO. Box 1137, Liberal, KS, 67905)

*If the ACT/SAT scores are more than two years old, you will be required to take the free ACCUPLACER Test at the SCCC Testing Center. To schedule a test, call (620) 417-1042.

  • For more information on how to request your final high school transcript, contact the high school you attended.
  • If no ACT/SAT scores exist, you will be required to the ACCUPLACER test.

You can submit your official transcripts from any previous institution via parchment through your institution’s registrar office or via mail. Please note that transcripts must be official transcripts.

Financial Aid Checklist

  • By completing the FAFSA, students can see if they qualify for work-study, Pell grants, and student loan opportunities.

    • Applications are accepted throughout the year with priority dates being April 1 for Fall Semester and November 1 for Spring Semester.
  • Before you can access the SCCC Scholarship page, you must have your log in information that was provided in your letter of acceptance.

Enrolling in Classes

  • To schedule a personal appointment with a general advisor, contact the Student Success Center at (620) 417-1700.
  • For incoming New Freshman, refer to the next step.

All Saints Enrollment Days are for incoming students to meet with staff and faculty and is geared to enrolling students in classes for the Fall semester. To register and for more information, click here.
