A comprehensive presentation of the effects of AC power system interference on pipelines in, or close to common rights-of-way. This in-person training will begin with an introduction of the types of interaction and impacts of these interactions between pipelines and overhead AC power transmission systems. The parameters affecting these influences and the severity of possible negative effects on the pipeline will be presented, followed by the means to find these situations in the field through particular survey methods. The measurement of particular parameters will also be described, with this data then used for modeling of these interactions. Modeling approaches will be discussed, and model results show localized conditions of the pipeline that may need AC Mitigation materials to be installed. The final sessions will be on the design, construction, and monitoring of these AC Mitigation systems.
