Understanding Generations in the Workplace

Generational differences have been at the forefront of workforce conversations for the past decade. The sense of urgency is heightened by the upcoming mass exodus of baby boomers in the workplace but also by the fact Generation X cannot support the upcoming leadership vacancies. It is a simple numbers game: the U.S. economy has more workers exiting than entering the labor force, and we will continue to see this shift into the foreseeable future. Understanding the current and incoming generations that make up our workforce is essential to attracting and retaining your talent of the future. Examining and preparing the newer generations is critical to organizational health and sustainability. Identify the similarities and differences of the generations and how to best lead and develop the Millennials and Generation Z population.
