Tomorrow's Mission Starts Today!

The SCCC Foundation exists to inspire, encourage and support students attending Seward County Community College by providing scholarship and other opportunities that allow students to move forward with the knowledge and financial means to fulfill their post-secondary goals.

History

Our Beginnings

The Seward County Community College Foundation was formed in 1969 along with the opening of Seward County Community College as the fund-raising arm of SCCC.

Our Founders

The charter Board of Trustees included Judge Horace Malin, Rev. Loren Ryel, Wayne Streiff, Charles Breen, Helen Recknor, and Dick Whitaker. The six-member board led by Dr. James M. Miller, president of the college, formed the Foundation to promote Seward County Community College by creating a fund to supply additional support for the College and its students. The SCCC Foundation is the fund-raising arm of the College.

#Fast-Forward to Today

Since its beginnings in 1969, the Foundation has grown to a membership of more than 3,000 with assets over $11 million. Each year the Foundation awards scholarships to deserving Seward County Community College students and supports the overall efforts of Seward County Community College.
