Saints Quiz Bowl team sets new record

The Saints Collegiate Quiz Bowl Team finished third after a long day of competition in the NAQT Kansas Sectionals tournament at Cowley County Community College, Seward’s highest-ever placing.

Two Saints also brought home individual medals, with David Beesley taking second and Dalton Cruz finishing fifth overall. Team members are Aidan Rice, captain, Liberal sophomore; Ainsley Horinek, Sublette freshman; Beesley and Cruz, both Hugoton freshmen. They are coached by Charity Horinek, SCCC Executive Director of Grant Development.

Throughout the round-robin-style tournament, the Saints beat both the first and second place teams at least once in head-to-head competition. Final places were based on overall record.
