A degree in education prepares students to facilitate learning to individuals of many different age levels in multiple opportunities. Students in the SCCC education program are provided with the general education requirements and introductory educational courses needed to transfer to a professional education program at a four-year institution. Students who pursue an education degree need to acquire strong basic skills in reading, writing, and mathematics. The SCCC education program offers the opportunity to take part in SPEC, Students Promoting Education Careers. As part of this on-campus organization students are able to learn more about becoming an educator and participate in sharing and social activities related to the education profession.
