Visual Arts

About the Program

Overview
The Visual Arts Program at Seward County Community College offers a variety of options. Students can take courses for personal enrichment or can choose to complete a degree program. We offer an Associate in Arts Degree with a major in Art for the student that plans to transfer to a four-year college or university and an Associate in Science degree with a major in Graphic Design for the student who wishes to seek employment in the graphic design area after graduation from SCCC

Advisors work closely with students to insure they have the necessary background to allow them to successfully transfer or enter the workforce. Transfer students work with a faculty advisor to choose a transfer school and select courses that will meet the requirements of their chosen school. Students completing the graphic design major will assemble a portfolio and resume to prepare them for employment.

Advising
It is important that you contact the Admissions Office to arrange for a tour of the campus and meet with a member of the art faculty. Please bring some samples of your work at the time of your visit.

Scholarships/Financial Aid
You will have the opportunity to apply for financial aid and scholarships at the time of your campus visit. The Visual Arts Program does offer art program and book scholarships. These are awarded on the basis of your interview and portfolio.
