Outreach Office

The purpose of the outreach program at Seward County Community College is to provide easy access, post-secondary educational opportunities for individuals located in the rural areas of southwest Kansas. The program serves an off-campus population in a seven county service area. SCCC college courses are usually offered at night in the following locations: Elkhart, Hugoton, Johnson, Meade, Moscow, Rolla, Satanta, Sublette, Southwestern Heights (Kismet-Plains), and Ulysses. The variety of course offerings ranges from traditional degree-oriented course work to non-traditional, special interest subjects. Non-credit offerings are also available in these communities.

Classes are also taught at service area high schools during the regular school day, which allows eligible students to receive concurrent high school and college credit. Outreach classes are typically taught by qualified local instructors at various school and community facilities.

High School Students

High School students may take dual-credit courses with written permission from their high school principal. Dual-credit courses offer high school students the valuable opportunity to earn both high school and college credit simultaneously. This option not only allows students to challenge themselves academically but also provides a head start on their college education.

Homeschooled Students

Homeschooled high school students have the opportunity to take college courses through Seward County Community College. Contact the Office of Outreach for more information on the Admissions procedure.

High School Counselors

Our high school counselors work tirelessly to guide and support concurrent high school students as they navigate the process of building their dual credit college schedules. They provide valuable insight and expertise to ensure that students are able to balance their high school coursework with college-level classes.
